Converting Solutions GmbH (JCS) is further expanding its partnership with VARTA. Since 2023, the German battery manufacturer VARTA has been relying on JCS slot die coating technology for electrode coating processes in the field of lithium-ion batteries. Now, the scope of applications is growing with a new project in the coin cell segment.
Until now, the collaboration has primarily focused on large-format cells for automotive applications. With the most recent project, we will deliver slot die technology for VARTA’s CoinPower business unit, which is dedicated to high-performance coin cell solutions.
Coin cells play a key role in today’s consumer electronics and wearables, such as premium earbuds, smartwatches and other mobile devices. In these applications, compact design must be combined with outstanding performance. The goal is to enable products with high energy density, long runtimes and extended service life.
We are proud to further strengthen this partnership and would like to thank VARTA for their continued trust in our technology. This project demonstrates the scalability and versatility of our slot die systems — from large-format automotive cells to highly precise coating processes for coin cell production.
